hello!
gimme more music news,
my fellow composers and musicians!

what is your status regarding your musical work?

are you in the middle of a project?

grinding away at the day job trying to save enough so you can concetrate on next album?

preparing new stuff?

promoting recent release?

that pile of unfinished tracks/songs?

what inspires you lately?

do you love/hate Spotify?

@luka Band fell apart more than a year ago when singer and bass player bailed on same day (and left us with scramble for practice space). Settled on space now but searching for right singer and bass player is vexing and difficult. Not just musicianship in the mix but also that strange connection of personality and friendship that has to happen for magic to occur. Thx for asking #musicmaking

@dogtrax sorry to hear that! Yeah, I can imagine there must exist some kind of chemistry between bandmates so that they can amount to something constructed (i wanted to write 'with a soul', but not all good music has a "soul", i guess).

i wish you good luck with finding new bandmates! don't give up.

@luka thx, and your call for updates on music has me spending part of the day making a new song with GarageBand, which I haven't done in quite some time. Thx for the inspiration. Are you working on music? (You asked us so it seems only fair that I should ask you, too, right?)

@dogtrax

awesome, really good to hear you've made something, now, inspired. :) keep it up - more music, more happiness :D

I am at the end of promotion for my latest EP () and now on into writing/adapting/remixing music for a friend's solo contemporary stage piece (between burlesque and contemporary dance) and preparing to start working on my next EP due out in october.

@luka Hey, recording a bunch of stuff lately, got like 4/5 albums waiting to be released and currently making another one.
I don't have a day job so I can record at home what I want.
My last best release is this one chezmonplaisir.bandcamp.com/al
The thing that is inspiring me lately is the album Void Fantasy of Rooksfeather.
I hate Spotify. I love Bandcamp and Free Music Archive.
And you ?

@Monplaisir

wow yeah, I've seen on your Bandcamp that your output is fast! Really good to hear that the creative juices are flowing! :)

That last (best) release is gooood. Also, really happy to see you are using CC licences! :)

I also hate Spotify and these huge marketplaces so removed from the artist and tools for us to get in touch with our audience.

@luka

Recently rehabilitated my recording workstation so it works again, but my space for recording is still kind of terrible (one side of a living room, and overcluttered with stuff that isn't all mine and isn't all music-related).

The only time I really have opportunity to get any recording done is when everyone else is out of the house (rare); motivation is low at present. :-/

Never used Spotify.

woozalia.com/ for prior recordings.
