Novoizvoljeni Študentski zbor (ŠZ) Študentske organizacije Univerze v Ljubljani (ŠOU), ustanoviteljice Zavoda Radio Študent, je na večernem zasedanju 30. 12. 2020 odločal o proračunu 2021, v katerem postavke za sofinanciranje Zavoda Radio Študent ni več. Pred tem je ŠZ ŠOU spremenil Pravilnik o financiranju ŠOU, v katerem po novem ni niti minimalnih odstotkov za financiranje iz koncesijske dajatve za delovanje članov družine ŠOU.
