Ishambard<p>So, it's <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a> already? Jeez, time flies.<br>Today, we're taking a magical trip on games I played this week this time to Tokyo Disneyland. In fact, we are having a Grand Adventure.</p><p>『ミッキーの東京ディズニーランド大冒険』Mickey's Grand Adventure in Tokyo Disneyland is a curious game, but right now, let's focus on my favourite track.</p><p>Big Thunder Mountain.<br><a href="https://youtu.be/-0qXjH_0beA?si=T7N4AP41f2c5utkg" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/-0qXjH_0beA?si=T7N4AP</span><span class="invisible">41f2c5utkg</span></a></p><p>For me, this track just works for this ride. I can't put my finger on it. But for me, it does evoke that vibe of a Steam Train going around the American Southwest. It's a fun, light track that will hopefully help you forget the game can be downright malicious at times.</p><p>Other honourable mentions, The Haunted Manor and Cinderella's Castle, are also pretty decent. CM30<p>So it’s <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/vgmwednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vgmwednesday</span></a> again? Well, since it’s on <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/NintendoMusic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NintendoMusic</span></a> now, here’s the Hyrule Castle theme from <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/Zelda" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Zelda</span></a> <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/ALinkToThePast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ALinkToThePast</span></a>:</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVsaNbPuvRI" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=JVsaNbPuvRI</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>God this song has just become iconic hasn’t it? Ishambard<p>So, it's <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a> again!<br>If you are expecting me to share something Majora's Mask related. Well. No. And if it was, it would be the Clock Town Theme. All three days.</p><p>Anyway! Jerry Boy/Smart Ball for the <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/SNES" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SNES</span></a> has a great soundtrack! Perhaps it is nostalgia, but it has a couple of great tracks, especially Green Plains and Desert. Incidentally Akira Yamaoka, of Silent Hill fame, worked on the music for this game! So that is cool. How much of a hand he has in the soundtrack, can't say because it was a joint effort with Yasuhiko Fukuda and Manabu Saito.</p><p>I am dropping a link to the full soundtrack, so everyone can enjoy everything this game has to offer musically. All the tracks are pretty short loops, but they certainly had an impact on me!</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/7bVvgVPg6MQ?si=Bg-tPMdgDu73aSs0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/7bVvgVPg6MQ?si=Bg-tPM</span><span class="invisible">dgDu73aSs0</span></a></p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/Nintendo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nintendo</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/SuperNintendo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SuperNintendo</span></a></p>

CM30<p>Well, since it’s <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/vgmwednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vgmwednesday</span></a> again, here are two very different songs from <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/SuperMario3DWorld" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SuperMario3DWorld</span></a> and <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/SuperMarioOdyssey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SuperMarioOdyssey</span></a>…</p><p>World Bowser:</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz-J4WJnkIM" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=Rz-J4WJnkIM</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>And Bowser’s Kingdom:</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rbRYsv4jY4" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=8rbRYsv4jY4</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Both make me wish we had less lava themed Bowser’s Castle areas though! The music and atmosphere is always amazing when they step away from that archetype.</p>
Ishambard<p>So, this was an... Interesting one.<br>As I have mentioned, several times, in the last few days. Today's <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a> track from games I have been playing comes from True Crime Streets of LA. A game filled to a bunch of gangster rap and hip hop with... Lyrics I wouldn't necessarily feel comfortable sharing... it was 2003, it was a simpler time.</p><p>But today's choice hit me like a 1967 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Convertible. Unlocking a core memory.</p><p>The song 『Rockstar』 by N.E.R.D is on this soundtrack! It actually comes into play during the brawling missions, and it is a great backdrop to the martial arts antics of Nick Kang. Incidentally, if I was playing SSX 3, the remix of this song would be my VGM pick!</p><p>I umm'd and ahh'd about placing this behind a CW due to explicit lyrics and still deliberating now...<br>I'm still working on my fedi etiquette, not going to lie 🤣</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/tpBJEoEycbs?si=spykCDpbBd3wSliw" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/tpBJEoEycbs?si=spykCD</span><span class="invisible">pbBd3wSliw</span></a></p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/PlayStation2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PlayStation2</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a></p>
CM30<p>Also for <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/vgmwednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vgmwednesday</span></a>… not sure what to suggest. How about the ending theme for the <a href="https://ohai.social/tags/MarioKart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MarioKart</span></a> 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass?</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQOcevxRE6o" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">youtube.com/watch?v=VQOcevxRE6o</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
Out of Print Archive (meppi64)<p>My pick for <a href="https://retro.pizza/tags/vgmwednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vgmwednesday</span></a> is very short but oh so sweet.</p><p>It's the nightfall music from the original Shenmue.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IOiyNYWqis" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=3IOiyNYWqi</span><span class="invisible">s</span></a></p>
Ishambard<p>So, for <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a> I am going to have to break my streak/themeing for a moment. Mostly because I am still up to my neck in small blue mice.</p><p>So i stumbled on this song again after I had a vague memory of it and wanted to look into what else the singer had done. I used to listen to this one a lot during my early days in listening to Anime/Game openings mostly because I liked it and loved the opening cinematic that went with it.</p><p>The song today is 『Brilliant World』by Kaori Oda, used for the intro to Luminous Arc on the <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/NintendoDS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NintendoDS</span></a></p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/Edl9NB9ry1g?si=beZRjh1-eQ0u-94t" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/Edl9NB9ry1g?si=beZRjh</span><span class="invisible">1-eQ0u-94t</span></a></p><p>I love openings that have moments of calm that can be used to show off characters in relaxed/casual/fun settings before it kicks it up a notch and shows off the characters in action. It's a visual dynamic I really like.</p><p>I need to play this game again, I do enjoy myself a good tactical RPG.</p><p><a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/Nintendo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Nintendo</span></a> <a href="https://cupoftea.social/tags/RetroGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RetroGaming</span></a></p>
Maddy Waves<p>🇬🇧 My <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a> entry for this week is tied directly to the previous one: While I shared the Loptous theme from FE4 last time, <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/FireEmblem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FireEmblem</span></a>: Thracia 776 (aka FE5, the stand-alone side story to FE4) has perhaps my favorite variant of it.<br>If you listen closely, you will notice it's a remix of the Loptous <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/soundtrack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>soundtrack</span></a>, with a bit of Julius' theme from FE4 blended in - and together, these two tracks make for a spine-chilling crescendo.</p><p>🇩🇪 Mein dieswöchiger Beitrag zum <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/VGM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGM</span></a> Wednesday knüpft direkt an den letzten an: Während ich beim letzten Mal das Loptous-Theme aus FE4 geteilt habe, hat Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 (aka FE5, die eigenständige Nebengeschichte zu FE4) vielleicht meine liebste Variante davon.<br>Wenn man genau hinhört, erkennt man, dass es sich um einen Remix des Loptous-Soundtracks handelt, in den ein bisschen von Julius' Theme aus FE4 eingearbeitet wurde - und zusammen ergeben diese beiden Tracks ein schauriges Crescendo.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb8tPQwTYm4" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=Bb8tPQwTYm</span><span class="invisible">4</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/VideoGames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VideoGames</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/Videospiele" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Videospiele</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.games/tags/VideoGameSoundtrack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VideoGameSoundtrack</span></a></p>
Erratic Enigma<p>Another Wednesday, another viddy game soundtrack to share!</p><p>Unravel is a platformer puzzle game where you lead an animated bundle of yarn named … Yarny (very creative name, I know) through beautiful landscapes inspired by the countryside in Sweden.</p><p>The game itself is cute and charming, but its soundtrack is definitely the highlight for me, possibly being one of my favourite soundtracks. It feels warm, cosy, and nostalgic to listen to, and never fails to relax me when I'm feeling down!</p><p>The track 『Summer Sky』, I think, is a good encapuslation of the game's soundtrack as a whole.</p><p><a href="https://youtube.com/watch?v=QDaLdBJZy7g" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/watch?v=QDaLdBJZy7</span><span class="invisible">g</span></a></p><p><a href="https://autistics.life/tags/VGMWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>VGMWednesday</span></a></p>
