I am once again faced with the bleak irony of people who like to code in the terminal with Vim or Nano, but also install onto their computer some 5 or 10 apps via FlatPak or Docker, including VSCode, each installed with their own entire copies of Node.js and Electron.js (differing only in their minor revision number), while also complaining about Emacs being “bloated” because it ships with a miniature web browser and fully-featured e-mail client.

I always loved to be able to backup of the home folder on #linux and basically take that from one install to another without loosing anything important. But with #flatpak installed inside the user folder, it adds another layer of magic. I was already amazed, when I realized the appeal of user partitions on linux, some years ago. Windows has nothing comparable.

You know what would be great? A degoogled Android with a virtual machine where I can run all the Apps that force me to use Google Play and Google Services that I cannot get rid of yet (e.g. Banking two-factor-authentication and similar critical stuff). A little dirty environment I can force kill at any time closed of from a clean one on the same device.

Please consider supporting my translation work. It's free (libre), released under a cc-by 4.0 license, and can help reduce radicalization, because while Christian Nationalists don't listen to reason, they do (supposedly) read the Bible. A properly translated Bible is much more difficult to weaponize, which is why they tend to cluster around the ESV and CSB.
Even so, all translations currently being published have the stated goal of aligning the Bible to certain dogmas.
I fully intend to let the Bible speak for itself, without censorship. I have always held that, "where the Bible speaks, we speak, where it is silent, we are silent;" add to that, where it is vague, weird, or even self-contradicting.

Open-source is for the privileged. I am giving up on FOSS because:

a) open-source, just like startups, requires that you have safety-net and access to resources to learn stuff

b) activism in a crowd of unskilled IT sweat-shop workers is pointless

c) no one will raise funds for your software, because it is privilege and entitlement in your world

d) you're isolated from skilled folks in developing world, so you'll never a part of it
