I thought only FairPhone made repairable phones, but HMD does too. They don't do everything that makes FairPhone great, but they're definitely worth consideration.

One problem: only 3 years of updates. 7 years of part availability can't fix that.

Maybe @LineageOS, @e_mydata, or @postmarketOS will support it.

@postmarketOS @fsfe @EU_Commission I'm personally very eager to unlock the bootloader of my #Nokia #HMDGlobal phone that is currently marked as "impossible" here:

Didn't know this impossibility at the point of purchase, I would have liked a mark indicating that on the box. The other Sony Xperia 10 III that I have bootloader unlocked doesn't compare well to the Nokia 8.3 5G.

well, not as popular as the applephones or samsungdroids, but #Nokia still has a small but dedicated following here in Finland. It's a Finnish company after all.

I think also because phones are not Nokia's main business anymore nowadays. the phones are actually developed by #HMDGlobal that license the brand from Nokia. For me, Nokia phones are S30/S40, Symbian, MeeGo, maybe even Lumia... I have a disconnect with the new Nokia phones 😅
